Congressional Reform Act of 2011

Congressional Reform Act of 2011

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971…before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land…all because of public pressure.

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Republicans Privatize Social Security

Yes, in their own words, they will privatize Social Security.  This is what the voters of Pennsylvania voted for when they elected Toomey.  Yes, Tea Party members and Patriots, you will have to hand over your Social Security to the thieves on Wall Street and you can kiss your Medicare good-bye.  And you voted for this because there is a black man in the white house.  Sorry to say that racism is alive and well in the “guns and Jesus” parts of Pennsylvania.

One more thing, Tea Party members and Patriots, you better start bottling your water because once the gas drillers come into your neighborhood, your water will not be safe to drink.  This is what will happen because you voted for Republicans to control Harrisburg and they support the rights of the gas drillers and NOT your rights.  Fools.

Let’s Hold Them Accountable

Now that the tea party and Republicans have taken back the House and control Harrisburg, let’s hold them accountable.

We want jobs, jobs, and more jobs.  We want jobs in Pennsylvania that employ Pennsylvanians.

Maloney promised to finally get rid of our property taxes.  We want no more property taxes.

Toomey promised American jobs.  We want jobs in Pennsylvania and not jobs off shored to another country.

Gerlach promised jobs.  We want jobs in Pennsylvania and not jobs off shored to another country.

Corbett promised to not raise taxes.  We don’t want any more money taken out of our pay checks to bail out the State.

Republicans promised that they will reduce the deficit without touching our Social Security.  We will hold them to that.

Republicans promised to lower taxes for EVERYONE.  We will hold them to that.

They have two years to deliver:

  • Jobs, jobs and more jobs
  • No more property taxes
  • Deficit reduction
  • Lower taxes

We don’t want to dismantle the health care reform.  We want either single payer or public option health care to replace mandatory private insurance.

We don’t want to spend two years wasting tax payers money on frivolous investigations.  We want Congress to work on jobs and more jobs.

We don’t want our Social Security handed over to Wall Street.  We want the Government to honor their promise to our seniors and to not use Social Security to reduce the deficit.

We don’t want endless wars.  We want our troops home NOW.

We don’t want bank bailouts.  We want responsible bank and Wall Street regulations.

We don’t want to keep drilling deeper and deeper for oil and gas which destroys our environment.  We want renewable energy like wind power and solar power.

We don’t want to keep supporting big agriculture which sends us dangerous foods.  We want safe food, produced by local farms.

Two years… that’s all they have.

Republican Social Security Plan

The Republican Social Security plan will reduce benefits by as much as 50% for young people entering the work force.

The younger generation should NOT be denied full benefits.  This is unfair treatment.  Republicans are the “I have mine and it’s all about me.”

Not only do Republicans want to hand our money over to the Wall Street Banker thieves, they also want to deny benefits to workers that paid for these benefits.

“The new analysis reveals that these proposals result in benefits cuts ranging from 10% to as high as 50%,” said Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D., N.D.), one of the Democrats who requested the study. “That’s not what I’d call ’saving’ Social Security.”

Social Security will not go broke if American have jobs.  A big contributing part of the government deficits is reduced income as a result of increased unemployment.  Give Americans jobs and the government income will increase.  Also, raise the income cap for Social Security contributions.

Remember, Toomey wants to privatize Social Security.

BUY AMERICAN.  IT’S ECONOMIC PATRIOTISM.

What President Clinton Said

Here is a statement made by President Bill Clinton:

“We have a practical, progressive, common-sense moderate who has actually done things and actually has a plan, running against a man with radical ideas and no record to back it up, no evidence that anything works that they’re advocating, who has embraced an agenda that will add a trillion dollars to the debt, not reduce the deficit and not create jobs, but let us go back to what got us in trouble in the first place,” Clinton said.

(h/t TomP at DailyKos)

This statement was made in reference to Jack Conway (D) vs. Rand Paul (TeaParty R). What’s interesting is that the same can be said about Joe Sestak (D) vs. Pat Toomey (Club for Growth R).

Joe Sestak is a practical, progressive, common-sense moderate that has a plan for jobs whereas Pat Toomey is a radical with an agenda that will add trillions of dollars to the debt, will not reduce the deficit and will not create jobs. Toomey’s policies will take us back to the what got us in trouble in the first place.

Once again, seniors will NOT be getting an increase in their Social Security payments. However, Toomey’s Corporate friends will make record bonuses this year. Toomey wants to hand over our Social Security money to his friends on Wall Street so that they can make even bigger bonuses while gambling away our Social Security money. If Toomey wins, seniors will be eating MORE cat food.

Republicans have already stated that if they disclose their economic plan to the voters, they will LOSE this election. Have you noticed the large number of Republicans avoiding tough questions from the media? Instead of telling voters the truth, they cut and run.

Gerlach Government Republicans

Does Gerlach Agree?

If the Republicans take control of Congress, the are planning on shutting down the Government.  This includes closing VA facilities.  This is what Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) has to say:

WESTMORELAND: If we hold the line, if we get those courageous men and women to be part of our majority. If we say look, the American people we’re listening to the American people, this is what we’re going to do. If government shuts down, we want you with us. We want you with us. We gotta have you because later on you all will call us and say look I didn’t get my check. Daddy can’t go to the VA. You know, the National Parks are closed. We need to be sure that you are with us because let me tell you this, all Americans need to understand. We need to understand this and I hope you can help share this analogy with people. Just as when you talk about what is going to possibly happen, you know I was unfortunate to cut myself with a chainsaw. I don’t know how many of you have cut yourself with a chainsaw. Chainsaw is not the cleanest instrument if you’re going to cut yourself. […] He said this is going to sting a little bit and it hurt like crazy. But you know what, if he didn’t clean out that wound, it would have never healed. I would have got gangrene. I would have died from it. And what has happened with this country, we have put bandaids on things that need to be cleaned out. It’s going to take some pain for us to do the things that we need to do to right the ship.

ListenWestmoreland .

The most disturbing part of this audio is the cheering and clapping of the people that Westmoreland is speaking to.  Nothing but selfish and greedy people that don’t care about the welfare of others.

What’s Gerlach’s thoughts on this?  Will he shut down the VA?   Will he withhold Social Security checks?  Speak up, Jim.  We need to know what you have to say about shutting down the Government.

And Jesus wept.

I Want My Country Back

Yes, you heard me.  I want my country back… back from the Tea Party and the big corporations that financially support them.  I do NOT want my country to return to the Tea Party and Republican principles of:

  • Repealing the Civil Rights Act because the central Government should not tell States how to treat American citizens.
  • Eliminating the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.  Women should not be voting.  They don’t have time for politics because they need to be in the kitchen cooking and they should be waiting on their husbands.  The bible tells us that women are subservient to men.
  • Returning to slave labor and sweat shop labor practices because businesses should be free to abuse their employees without Government interference.
  • Dismantling Social Security because seniors should have planned better for their retirement.  Too bad and too sad if Wall Street bankers stole most of their IRA money.  Tough luck if the seniors worked at jobs that didn’t have a pension program or 401K program.  If these seniors worked for minimum wage, they still should have thought ahead even if it required providing less food and clothing for their children so that they would have that extra money to save for their retirement.  Some Republican candidates are claiming that Social Security is unconstitutional.
  • Dismantling Medicare because health care is not a right, it is a privilege and the Tea Party does not approve of privileges except when it comes to their idols and themselves.  Besides, only the privileged deserve health care.
  • Eliminating disability payments because people need to be more responsible and not get injured on the job.  This includes our military veterans.  They should stop whining because after all, they volunteered.
  • Forcing Catholics, Jews and Muslims to commit sins by having to read and study the protestant bible in public schools.
  • Allowing property owners to create toll roads.  People have a right to collect money from anyone that crosses their property line.  Good luck with getting to work on time and having any money left over from your paycheck after paying all the tolls.
  • Supporting “Second Amendment” solutions as a means of conflict resolution.  This might also work as a method of population control.
  • Returning to the glory days of lords and serfs.

I want my country back from hate mongers like Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, Malkin, Kristol, Bachmann, Rove, Cheney, and all the rest that appear on Fox News, the opinion network.  The goals for these people are to divide our country and to make piles of money while undereducated people do their dirty work for them.

I want my country back from racists such as Beck, Laura Schlesinger, the Tea Party and the Larouches.  These people are so upset because there is a black family living in, what they perceive as, the White(‘s only) House.

I want my country back from people that profit from the suffering of others (Beck, Palin and Limbaugh).

I want my country back from politicians that place Wall Street above and before Main Street, such as Pat Toomey, Tom Corbett, Jim Gerlach and all the other Republicans and Tea Party members.

Yes, I want my country back.  The one where everyone is treated with respect and  equality, the one where everyone receives good health care, the one where everyone receives a livable wage, and the one where everyone is free to practice their religious beliefs without interference from other religions.

I want back, the country that was progresing forward.  Not the one that is currently heading in Reverse.

Alaska’s Republican Senate Candidate

The Republican candidate for the AK Senate seat, Joe Miller, speaks the truth regarding the Republican agenda and Social Security.

Alaska Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller repeated his view Wednesday that the United States needs to fundamentally rethink Social Security.

“Longer term, there has got to be a move outside of that system,” Miller told CNN’s John King. “Ultimately we want to transfer the power back to the states so that states can take up the mantle of those programs if they so desire.”

Miller previously said that the U.S. should “transition out of the Social Security arrangement.”

King, noting that Miller’s position is something Democrats have pounced on, asked Miller to make himself perfectly clear — that he wouldn’t take away Social Security checks from the people who currently count on them, but that he’d like to do away with the program for future generations. King asked: “Would [a person born the day Miller was sworn in] perhaps grow up in an America where there is not a federal Social Security program if you got your way?”

“Absolutely,” Miller said.

So there you have it.  Say “bye, bye” to Social Security.  Republicans have been trying to dismantle Social Security since its inception.  Having said that, it is also clear that the Republicans want to give tax breaks to the rich at the expense of the middle class.(psst… Toomey wants to dismantle Social Security and protect the rich Wall Street Bankers).

If you believe that the feudal system was the best, then support the Republicans because if they get their way, we will all be serving them for less than minimum wage while they enjoy their lives.   The Republicans dream of returning to the time of lords and serfs.

If you want to save Democracy and save Social Security, then you will vote for Democrats.

If you believe in Economic Patriotism, then you will vote for Democrats.

Strenthen Social Security

Social Security DID NOT create the deficit yet Republicans want to use our Social Security money to reduce the deficit.  The also want to “personalize” (same as privatize) Social Security by handing over our Social Security money to Wall Street.

As for the Democrats that are in sync with this Republican scheme, we are watching.
