The Early Tea Bag Wearers – Updated

This is a re-posting of an earlier video produced by Keystone Progress.  The people in these videos will eventually staple tea bags to their hats and refer to themselves as “tea baggers”.  When they found out what the term “tea bagger” meant, they got their panties in a knot and now call themselves  “bigots”.

It’s a reminder of how all this hatred and racism towards Obama began.

And remember “monkey man”?  Thanks again to Keystone Progress for being there and capturing the truth.

Things have not gotten better.  The hatred, racism and violence has only gotten worse.

UPDATE:  The people in the above videos are the ones that cling to their guns and Jesus while living in the parts of Pennsylvania that either will be or are already open to gas drilling (fracking).  Soon, these people will be seeing this when they turn on their faucets…

Congress Economy Financial Markets Obama Republicans

Times Tough

The job situation is becoming worse. Each day, news outlets are reporting another Corporate lay off effecting thousands of people’s lives. When I drive around my neighborhood, I see more and more “For Sale” signs in front of houses.  I even saw one house that had a “For Sale” sign and a “For Rent” sign in front of it. Either option was acceptable to the homeowner.  Now that’s desperation.

President Obama created a stimulus plan that would help put Americans back to work. He presented this plan to the House of Representatives hoping that Congress would write a job stimulus bill. After a few days of discussion, the House passed a bill which removed some of the spending and added more tax cuts.

The House stimulus bill is now with that elite group, the Senators, and the so called “Moderates” or “Centrists” have brutally chopped away at the “spending” and added more tax cuts. For 8 years, the Republican mantra has been tax cuts and more tax cuts. Since our economy is taking a nose dive over a cliff (h/t Daily Kos), it is obvious that these tax cuts didn’t save us. So what do the Republicans want more of in this stimulus bill? You guessed it, more tax cuts. They want to continue doing the same thing over and over again even though it never worked in the past. There is a word for this behavior. It is called insanity.

We Can’t Afford to Play that Game

One of the things that I admire about Barack Obama is his ability to speak the truth to lies and rumors.

Here’s his speech from Thursday.

Question: Should a Buy American Clause Be Part Of the Stimulus Plan

In the 1990’s, many jobs were lost in the USA due to manufacturing leaving this country and moving to countries that have cheap labor such as China and Indonesia. In the last 7 years, the job shift has moved to the “white collar” jobs which have been moving to India in an ever increasing speed, particularly computer work and customer service. About the only jobs left are in “retail” or self-employment.

Try buying items with the label “Made in the USA” and you will spend a great deal of time shopping around and will probably not find what you are looking for. Even clothes that are labeled “Made in the USA” are made in US territories in the South Pacific by women that were coerced by the promise of a better life only to end up living in crowded conditions behind fences and working in sweat shops.

The Obama stimulus plan and the one passed by the House includes a “use only American steel and iron products” clause which the Republicans want removed. Steel and iron are the only products that would fall under the “buy American” rule and even these products can have exceptions.

Should a “Buy American” clause remain as part of the Stimulus Plan? What are your thoughts?

Cats thoughts: We need jobs because without jobs there will be no spending. Tax breaks don’t create jobs and tax rebates don’t translate into increased spending. Only jobs will bring back the economy. ~Cats

No Bids

My, oh, my… what is it with this media? The current topic to hit the big time is “no bid contracts” and it seems that the Democrats are the devils making these deals. Never mind that Bush and Cheney made no bid contracts that cost trillions of taxpayers money, not to mention both American and Iraqi lives lost. If a Republican does it, then that’s okay. If a Democrat does it, well, that’s big news.

  • On Sunday, we read about Governor Bill Richardson withdrawing his nomination for Secretary of Commerce because of a Grand Jury investigation regarding funds that his campaign received from CDR. The investigation centers around CDR receiving preferential treatment by the state of New Mexico in receiving contracts from the state. More from the Albuquerque Journal.
  • The plot thickens as ABC reports that the Obama campaign received from David Rubin, yes, the very person involved in the Richardson investigation. Oh, dear, where will this end?
  • Even our very own Governor Ed Rendell is being accused of a “pay-for-play” with David Rubin. Talking Points Memo has more on the story of this scandal.

Now this is serious stuff, folks. Don’t let these famous names scare you. Let’s do a body count… how many people died as a direct result of David Rubin’s contributions to campaigns? None, that I am aware of. Let’s visit the Bush/Cheney no-bids.

  • The Bush/Cheney Regime were working on a no bid contract with Iraq to steal purchase their oil back in June of 2008. Article from the NY Times.
  • Here’s a juicy story from CBS 60 Minutes. Seems like Cheney wanted to keep it “all in the family” BEFORE the US invaded Iraq by having the Pentagon award a no-bid worth $1.3 billion to Halliburton and its subsidy Brown and Root. Wonder if David Rubin is collecting this much from New Mexico and Pennsylvania. Rubin can forget getting anything back from the Obama campaign.
  • Now this story about a water deal from the San Francisco Chronicle may not sound like much, however, it did have an impact as it was just one more slap in the face of the Iraqi people. You see, the Iraqi people had lost their source of income when we bombed their businesses and then the Bush/Cheney Regime said, no work for the Iraqis unless they are working for American companies that received no bid contracts for very low wages. You figure this one out.

So what exactly is the body count from the Bush/Cheney no bid contracts? There are the thousands of Americans that have either lost their lives or been injured in Iraq and no one knows the true number of Iraqis that died or were injured. The Iraq war was all about OIL and Halliburton’s no bid contracts were the reward for contributing to the Bush/Cheney election.

Twas the Night… Yes We Can

T’was the Night Before Inauguration
By John Cobarruvias
BayAreaHouston.blogspot.com

T’was the night before inauguration and what to my dismay
The market was tanking, I lost my 401K!
The stocks were hung, in downfall they stuck
While Bush did nothing, a truly lame duck

The republicans were nestled, their heads in the sand
With visions of defeat of the republican brand.
And Cheney with his gun, his heart a pace
Looking for someone, to shoot in the face.

When out on the house floor, there came such a clatter
I sprang to the internets to find what’s the matter.
Away to my screen I ran with a flash
Hoping the market, didn’t crash.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Showed me someone I needed to know.
When what to my eyes, I paused, with a comma
But a vision of hope, It was Barack Obama!

With excitement and conviction in each of his steps
I wondered what he and his elves, would do next.
More rapid than eagles his appointments they came
And he whistled and shouted, and called them by name.

Now Emanuel! Now, Daschle! Now Richardson and Biden!
On, Clinton, On Napolitano, and Gates, no sense in hidin’!
To fix the economy, our reputation and more.
And to stop the killing of this unnecessary war.

As Obama stood still, the republicans they trembled
Remembering 8 years of a disaster they had assembled.
They’ve broken our banks, and doubled our debt.
They scared us to death with weapons of threats.

They squandered a surplus, They started a war.
They shredded our constitution, littered on the floor.
They attack our unions, our immigrants and those who are gay.
They claim to be Christians, yet on the sick they prey.

We may never recover from this hole they dug.
But we will climb to the top with an American tug.
The republican party has destroyed all that matters
They deserve nothing more but to hold the damn ladder.

But his voice did change, along with a smile.
Thinking of the bills that soon would be filed.
Protect those who are old and young alike
Restore our honor and our military might.

Protect our planet, and clean our air.
While creating a surplus we can leave to our heirs
Fix our economy, and health care for all.
And honor those who fought, and those who fall.

Obama sprang to his feet, to his team he gave a shout.
The challenges seem impossible, hard work needed no doubt
But I heard him exclaim ere he talked and ran.
Hey! It’s not just a slogan, YES WE CAN!

Have a great Holiday everyone.
There is hope in the White House!

Is The Lame Duck Losing His Feathers?

Duck Feathers
Duck Feathers

Looks like some of the rule changes that the boy Bush is trying to rush through before the adults move into the White House won’t be happening. According to an article in the Washington Post, the EPA is backing away from proposals to alter air pollution rules. Whew! As if the boy Bush doesn’t realize that the most basic need for animal and human life is oxygen and that the only way we take oxygen in is through our lungs and pollution destroys the body’s ability to get to that oxygen. Then again, the boy Bush lacks curiosity and doesn’t think beyond his own nose.

The Environmental Protection Agency yesterday abandoned its push to revise two air-pollution rules in ways that environmentalists had long opposed, abruptly dropping measures that the Bush administration had spent years preparing.

One proposal would have made it easier to build a coal-fired power plant, refinery or factory near a national park. The other would have altered the rules that govern when power plants must install antipollution devices. Environmentalists said it would result in fewer such cleanups.

At least the Environmental Protection Agency is cooperating with the Obama transition team something that Bush promised to do but hasn’t done, yet. Perhaps Bush could learn something from these EPA officials and that would be how to reach beyond his own interests and start caring about other people. Let’s hope that other agencies follow the EPA’s lead and pull more feathers from the lame duck, Bush.

Letter To The World

The World From Space
The World From Space

To: The World

From: The USA

Subject: Technical Notice

Dear World,

The United States of America, your quality supplier of ideals of

liberty and democracy, would like to apologize for its 2001-2008

service outage.

The technical fault that led to this eight-year service interruption

has been located, and the parts responsible for it were replaced

Tuesday night, November 4. Early tests of the newly-installed

equipment indicate that it is functioning correctly, and we expect it

to be fully functional by mid-January.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the outage, and we look

forward to resuming full service — and hopefully even to improving

it in years to come.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

— USA

Have a good holiday!
