Banking Barack Obama Point of View Politics President Barack Obama President Obama

Dear Mr. President

Dear President Obama,

I am not in the mood to have you negotiate ANYTHING with this Congress especially the expiration of the Bush tax cuts to the rich. I am sick and tired of footing the bill for the rich people and getting little in return. I wanted a single payer health care plan or at least a public option and you dropped the ball on that one by caving into the Republicans temper tantrums. Instead, I got a watered down health care bill that won’t fully go into effect until 2014 which gives the insurance companies plenty of time to double and triple my current premiums. I wanted real Wall Street reform. Instead, I got weak financial reform because Wall Street took precedent over Main Street. Having said that, you probably still want me to vote for you and the weak Democrats in 2012. You need to convince me that YOU can do better than negotiating with greedy Republicans. You need to take control of the agenda. If you want my vote, then you need to earn it. I’m getting tired of footing the bill and getting nothing in return. I wouldn’t return to a restaurant that gave me poor service and bad food and I won’t vote for politicians that give me bad service and bad bills.

I Want My Country Back

Yes, you heard me.  I want my country back… back from the Tea Party and the big corporations that financially support them.  I do NOT want my country to return to the Tea Party and Republican principles of:

  • Repealing the Civil Rights Act because the central Government should not tell States how to treat American citizens.
  • Eliminating the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.  Women should not be voting.  They don’t have time for politics because they need to be in the kitchen cooking and they should be waiting on their husbands.  The bible tells us that women are subservient to men.
  • Returning to slave labor and sweat shop labor practices because businesses should be free to abuse their employees without Government interference.
  • Dismantling Social Security because seniors should have planned better for their retirement.  Too bad and too sad if Wall Street bankers stole most of their IRA money.  Tough luck if the seniors worked at jobs that didn’t have a pension program or 401K program.  If these seniors worked for minimum wage, they still should have thought ahead even if it required providing less food and clothing for their children so that they would have that extra money to save for their retirement.  Some Republican candidates are claiming that Social Security is unconstitutional.
  • Dismantling Medicare because health care is not a right, it is a privilege and the Tea Party does not approve of privileges except when it comes to their idols and themselves.  Besides, only the privileged deserve health care.
  • Eliminating disability payments because people need to be more responsible and not get injured on the job.  This includes our military veterans.  They should stop whining because after all, they volunteered.
  • Forcing Catholics, Jews and Muslims to commit sins by having to read and study the protestant bible in public schools.
  • Allowing property owners to create toll roads.  People have a right to collect money from anyone that crosses their property line.  Good luck with getting to work on time and having any money left over from your paycheck after paying all the tolls.
  • Supporting “Second Amendment” solutions as a means of conflict resolution.  This might also work as a method of population control.
  • Returning to the glory days of lords and serfs.

I want my country back from hate mongers like Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, Malkin, Kristol, Bachmann, Rove, Cheney, and all the rest that appear on Fox News, the opinion network.  The goals for these people are to divide our country and to make piles of money while undereducated people do their dirty work for them.

I want my country back from racists such as Beck, Laura Schlesinger, the Tea Party and the Larouches.  These people are so upset because there is a black family living in, what they perceive as, the White(‘s only) House.

I want my country back from people that profit from the suffering of others (Beck, Palin and Limbaugh).

I want my country back from politicians that place Wall Street above and before Main Street, such as Pat Toomey, Tom Corbett, Jim Gerlach and all the other Republicans and Tea Party members.

Yes, I want my country back.  The one where everyone is treated with respect and  equality, the one where everyone receives good health care, the one where everyone receives a livable wage, and the one where everyone is free to practice their religious beliefs without interference from other religions.

I want back, the country that was progresing forward.  Not the one that is currently heading in Reverse.

The Real Keating Five and John McCain – UPDATED

This is a MUST VISIT website…

http://www.keatingeconomics.com/

No wonder John McCain says he doesn’t understand the economy.  He was in cahoots with the Charles Keating where 20,000 Americans lost their savings when the Savings and Loan failed.  John McCain pushed for deregulation then and he continues to push for deregulation now.  And speaking of now, the taxpayers were presented with another bailout to the tune of $700 billion.  John McCain still supports deregulation and he wants to deregulate health care and he wants people under the age of 55 to put their Social Security money in a failing stock market.

John McCain, bad for the economy.

Shorter video below:

UPDATE:  John McCain and Charles Keating:

(excerpt from Rolling Stone – referencing John McCain’s first run for Congress)

To finance his campaign, McCain dipped into the Hensley family fortune. He secured an endorsement from his mentor, Sen. Tower, who tapped his vast donor network in Texas to give McCain a much-needed boost. And he began an unethical relationship with a high-flying and corrupt financier that would come to characterize his cozy dealings with major donors and lobbyists over the years.

Charlie Keating, the banker and anti-pornography crusader, would ultimately be convicted on 73 counts of fraud and racketeering for his role in the savings-and-loan scandal of the 1980s. That crisis, much like today’s subprime-mortgage meltdown, resulted from misbegotten banking deregulation, and ultimately left taxpayers to pick up a tab of more than $124 billion. Keating, who raised more than $100,000 for McCain’s race, lavished the first-term congressman with the kind of political favors that would make Jack Abramoff blush. McCain and his family took at least nine free trips at Keating’s expense, and vacationed nearly every year at the mogul’s estate in the Bahamas. There they would spend the days yachting and snorkeling and attending extravagant parties in a world McCain referred to as “Charlie Keating’s Shangri-La.” Keating also invited Cindy McCain and her father to invest in a real estate venture for which he promised a 26 percent return on investment. They plunked down more than $350,000.

McCain’s Friends

John McCain, more of the same.  His economic plan is to “stop government spending”.  Hello, it’s not government spending that created this downward spiral on Wall Street.  It’s the deregulation that, Phil Graham,  McCain’s economic adviser put into place back in the 1990’s.  Yeah, McCain’s friend George W Bush wants Main Street to give him a blank check.  Why?  So he can run off to Paraguay with our money in January 09?  I’ve said it before and I will say it again… NEVER TRUST A REPUBLICAN WITH YOUR MONEY.  HOLD ONTO YOUR WALLET WHEN A REPUBLICAN TALKS ABOUT “CHANGE” BECAUSE IT WILL COST YOUR MORE MONEY.

What the news is not talking about is that small banks are doing just fine.

Forget Main Street

The Republicans are all set to bail out Wall Street and they don’t want to bail out Main Street.  With the Republicans, you are on your own, baby.

Read all about it at Politico

Republicans… playing politics as usual.  They only care about money and more money.  Remember, they also want to privatize Social Security.

UPDATE:

Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign advisor, was paid $30,000.00/week by Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae.  So when McCain starts trashing Obama about being connected to someone he was introduced to once from Freddie Mac, he needs to turn around and look behind him because his top man, Rick Davis is a foremost lobbyist for the mortgage industry.  This is why McCain will never regulate Wall Street and refuses to help out Main Street.

Senator John McCain’s campaign manager was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations, current and former officials say.

New York Times article, a must read.

Incensed by the advertisements, several current and former executives of the companies came forward to discuss the role that Rick Davis, Mr. McCain’s campaign manager and longtime adviser, played in helping Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac beat back regulatory challenges when he served as president of their advocacy group, the Homeownership Alliance, formed in the summer of 2000. Some who came forward were Democrats, but Republicans, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed their descriptions.

John McCain continues to lie in his ads.  Whatever happened to the “Straight Talk Express”?  It has become the express of liars.  John McCain will say anything to further his political career.  In my humble opinion, I think John McCain is still trying to live up to his father’s and grandfather’s expectations of him and that is why he has been so desperate in his race to be elected President.  His career is first and our country is second to him.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, John McCain was asked if he thinks that Sarah Palin is ready to be president.  McCain answered “yes” while shaking his head no.  Body language speaks louder and more truthful than words and if McCain is shaking his head no while answering this question, then he really is saying that he is not convinced that Sarah Palin was the right choice.
Watch the heading shaking…

Just a reminder…. all this deregulation and union busting was started with Ronald Reagan, a Republican President and continued with George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.  When Presidendent Clinton tried to veto a deregulation bill, his veto was overturned by the Republican controlled Congress.  Yeah, I’m blaming the Republicans for this economic disaster with their voodoo, trickle down economics.  It didn’t work in the 1920’s and it didn’t work this time around either.  The Savings and Loan disaster happened during the Reagan years and the taxpayers had to bail out those failures.
