Candidate Health Health Care Open Thread Pennsylvania Vote Voting

The PA Congressional District DINO

Yesterday, Representative Tim Holden sided with the Republicans and the Tea Party by voting against the best interests of his constituents.  He voted “NO”, twice, for health care reform.

The historic health care reform bill that just passed the House will immediately provide the following benefits to Pennsylvanians in the 17th Congressional District:

. Improve coverage for 444,000 residents with health insurance.
. Give tax credits and other assistance to up to 168,000 families and 13,000 small businesses to help them afford coverage.
. Improve Medicare for 120,000 beneficiaries, including closing the doughnut hole.
. Extend coverage to 18,500 uninsured residents.
. Guarantee that 7,300 residents with pre-existing conditions can obtain coverage.
. Protect 900 families from bankruptcy due to unaffordable health care costs.
. Allow 47,000 young adults to obtain coverage on their parents’ insurance plans.
. Provide millions of dollars in new funding for 7 community health centers.
. Reduce the cost of uncompensated care for hospitals and other health care providers by $59 million annually.

Democrats DINO Elections Republicans

What Was The Message

The Blue Dog Democrats are saying that President Obama’s agenda is too progressive and that is why the governor’s races were won by Republicans.  Progressive Democrats are saying that Congress is moving too slowly on health care reform and that is why Republicans won these two governor’s races.  I have a different view.

In Virginia, the Democratic Party had a boring DINO as their candidate so the Democrats just stayed home.  In New Jersey, Corzine had his own issues, mainly, high property taxes.  Too bad for New Jersey, because Christi won’t be any better than Corzine.

The reason that the Democrats lost these two races is because of a poor choice of candidates.  If Democrats want to win next year, then they need candidates that excite the voters, especially the young voters and they need to stop fighting among themselves and get health care reform with a public option passed for Americans.  They also need to do something about keeping good paying jobs in this country and discourage companies from supplying jobs to China.

Republicans always show up to vote regardless of the qualifications of their candidate.  If Stalin or Hilter were the Republican candidate for office, the Republicans would still show up and vote for the Republican.  Democrats don’t operate that way.  Rather than vote for a poor candidate, Democrats will stay home.  This is how Republicans win elections.  It’s not that Republicans have highly qualified candidates that represent the values of Americans, it’s that Democrats have poor candidates.

Let this be a wake-up call to the Democratic Party leaders.  We will no longer hold our noses and vote for someone just because there is a “D” behind their name.  We want strong, progressive candidates who are willing to work for the good of all Americans and not just corporations and Wall Street.

Democrats, Say “No” to Senator Specter

Last week, the Senate’s newest Democrat, Arlen Specter voted against protecting Pennsylvanians from losing their homes. In other words, he voted “no” on S.896 which would prevent mortgage foreclosures and preserve home values. The banks own Senator Specter because he votes in their best interest and not the best interest of his constituents.

When it comes to health care, Pennsylvanians will be on their own because Senator Specter also stated that he would not support a publicly funded health care plan. What he neglected to say was that he would still be keeping his publicly funded health care plan. Listen to what Senator Specter had to say on “Meet the Press“.

If Senator Specter continues to vote with the Republicans and expects to get the support of the Pennsylvania State Democratic Party, he may be in for a big surprise next year. The Democratic Committee people in Pennsylvania want a REAL Democrat on the ticket and not a DINO.

Arlen Specter only cares about getting re-elected. He will always vote with the Republicans and vote against the best interest of our nation.

And then there is Senator’s view on the Supreme Court.

Remember how Arlen Specter treated Anita Hill.

Listen to Specter’s view on the Republican Party. He misses “Reagan”.

Don’t let Specter’s “switch” fool you. He is still a Republican at heart and he will not be supporting President Obama’s agenda and the American people’s desire for change. It will be the “same old wine, but a brand new bottle” with Specter.

Democrats, say “NO” to Arlen Specter.

UPDATE: Specter first told President Obama that he would be a loyal Democrat and then he denied he said that today on “Meet the Press“.
