Todd Palin, the Shadow Governor

Todd Palin and his wife Sarah Palin
Todd Palin and his wife Sarah Palin

Who is watching and caring for the children? As Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin has a busy schedule. She also has 5 children to care for. It is not uncommon for a family to have a working mother and a stay at home father. Todd Palin has a seasonal job and when he is not working at his $100,000/year job, he is lurking in the halls of Alaska’s Capitol building in Juneau. Both the Palins are in Juneau at the same time. Who is at home in Wasilla taking care of the children? Is this a family that only looks like a family during photo opportunities?

And what exactly is Todd Palin doing during the time he spends in Alaska’s Capitol building? What is the purpose of Todd Palin being copied on official Governor’s email messages? He is not an elected official.

Is Sarah Palin just a ‘prop’? Is Todd Palin really a “shadow” governor? This would mean that Palin never fully managed the business of Governor of Alaska without the assistance of her husband, someone that was NOT elected by the residents of Alaska. Sarah Palin may NOT have the executive experience that she claims. It may be Todd Palin with all this executive experience.

Read the full story at Salon.com.

…some in Alaska have referred to him as the “shadow governor” — has raised questions about whether a Sarah Palin vice-presidency would hand the same type of backstage power to Todd, and what that might mean in the running of the U.S. government.

Is Todd giving Sarah advice regarding the oil pipeline? What was he doing at this official government meeting?

Andrew Halco has questions about Todd Palin, too. Todd is not a government employee, yet he gets copied on emails that are being withheld due to “Executive Privilege”.

If Sarah goes to Washington, how much “Restricted Confidential Information” will Todd be viewing?

Folks, this is frightening.

Little Facts Add Up on Palin

This thread is posted in it’s entirety with the written permission of the author, Melinda Donahey.

Some “Little Facts” About Sarah Palin

By Melinda Donahey

The American public has less than 60 days to judge Sarah Palin’s fitness for high office, dangerous risk-taking indeed when as vice-president she would be next in line to a 72-year-old man who has had bouts with melanoma, whose father and grandfather both died younger than he is now, and who, as a former prisoner-of-war, confronts the likelihood of a shorter-than-average lifespan.

Palin has been kept under extremely tight wraps since her nomination. Reporters can’t ask her questions directly, and she never appears on the campaign trail unless accompanied by John McCain or delivers a speech that isn’t written for her.

Though Palin is a virtual stranger to most Americans, McCain campaign aide Rick Davis is indifferent to the public’s right to know anything unscripted about her policy views, stating “We’re going to do what’s in our best interests to try to win the election.” Apparently, the best interests of the electorate don’t figure into the equation.

Press reports about Palin pour forth, but no one has put all the information together in a coherent whole, as this article attempts to do.

Meanwhile, the McCain campaign complains loudly that Palin has been maligned by the media in a sexist manner, and should be judged by the same standard as male politicians seeking the highest offices in the land. Fair enough.

Let’s see exactly how well she’s actually performed as mayor and governor of Alaska. And since she seeks a position with awesome responsibility in the most diverse, complex, multi-faceted superpower in history, a country with over 300 million citizens–let’s see how the size and complexity of her previous responsibilities compare to the job she seeks.

Change is coming, change is coming…

Shouts John McCain. Here’s what John McCain has been saying:

“Change is coming, change is coming,” McCain promised, projecting an image of independence and political populism.

One of his challenges is to separate himself from the unpopular incumbent in the White House and fight against Obama’s charge that a McCain presidency would amount to a third term for Bush.

“On the core issues, the economy and the war, he has been joined to Bush at the hip,” said Democratic pollster Mark Mellman. “On the other hand, Bush is a lead weight dragging him down. He has to rely on rhetoric to separate (himself) but he can’t separate himself on policies important to the American people.”

Governor Ed Rendell is at it again…

Trojan Horse
Trojan Horse

There is no stopping Governor Ed Rendell when he is on a mission. This is what he has to say about the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin also known as the Republican Trojan Horse.

“She [claims to be] a reformer,” said the Pennsylvania Democrat. “And yet she is being investigated on the charge that she used her power as governor to fire someone who was going through a messy divorce with a relative of hers. Could you imagine if I was doing the same thing in Pennsylvania? You would be calling for my impeachment.”

“[The McCain camp] has tried to again obscure the facts about Gov. Palin. ‘She is a reformer and against earmarks.’ No she isn’t, when she was mayor of that town she hired a lobbyist to get earmarks… ‘She was against the bridge to nowhere.’ No she wasn’t. She was for the bridge to nowhere first… She is a budget balancer. But she left the town in greater debt then when she became mayor, so she is not a budget balancer.”

“I like her,” Rendell concluded. “She is a good person, she has tremendous potential but in no way shape or form is she ready to be president of the United States.”

“First of all, let me say it should be embarrassing for the Republican ticket that Rick Davis, Sen. McCain’s campaign manager, said ‘this election is not about issues.’ Good lord, with all the challenges facing America it has to be about issues…They don’t want to talk about issues because when the truth comes out about issues the American people will favor Sen. Obama tremendously.”

Dear Hillary – about those 18 million cracks…

Now before anyone starts attacking me (and you know who you are) for writing in support of Hillary Clinton, be sure to read Politics is Politics first. I was disappointed in Hillary Clinton’s attacks during the primary season. Since then, Hillary and I have “kissed and made up”, so to speak. What I did learn about Hillary is that she is very good at standing up for her principles and Americans. I liked and respected Hillary Clinton before the primaries and I still like and respect Hillary Clinton. If you want to attack me, please be sure to include a link to this site when you do it. Publicity will help spread the truth about Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Now that that is out of the way, I want to address the real issues. Last week, John McCain was pressured by his Republican handlers to choose an ultra conservative, right wing female to be his running mate. McCain’s first choice was Joe Lieberman and he also seriously considered Tom Ridge. But John McCain, no longer the maverick, folded his hand, adjusted his “Party” hat, and gave into the right wing, neocon Republicans that control him. All you moderate Republicans can forget about “the maverick” because “the maverick” threw away his deck of cards and packed up his guns and he won’t be back. It’s all right wing, Evangelicals all the way until election day and then if he wins, it will be more of Bush and Cheney years.

  • A new language has been discovered.  It is known as Palinguage. and it comes with its own dictionary.  You will enjoy learning this new language.  It has only been recently discovered.  Do feel free to add more words to this language as it is still in the developmental phase.
  • Oh Sarah Palin, did you not think that you would make enemies as you stepped on everyone while climbing to the top?  Lyda Green, Republican State Senate President (AK) had this to say about Governor Palin.
  • “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?” said Green, a Republican from Palin’s hometown of Wasilla. “Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?”
  • Senator Joe Biden was on Talk of the Nation this past Sunday.  He was asked about the Iraq war and he had this to say. What is happening now in Iraq is exactly what he suggested two years ago… the formation of a confederation of States.  He also said that President Bush is now working on a deal with the Iraqis that would set time lines for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq, just like Barack Obama’s plan.  Then Joe Biden went on to say that John McCain is the only one that wants to stay in Iraq indefinitely.  So everyone knows that we need to get out of Iraq except John McCain and Sarah Palin.  I’ve said it before and I will say it again.  Poor John McCain is still fighting the Vietnam War.  He never had closer.
  • “Media man” John McCain is suddenly against the press.  This is stupid because the press is the way to get free publicity.  Watch this if you don’t believe me.  John McCain can’t take it.  He was scheduled to appear on the Larry King show and after his campaign worker, Tucker, was asked a simple question and couldn’t answer it, John McCain said that he wouldn’t talk to Larry King. This is just like a child saying “I’m taking my toys and going home”.  Grow up, John McCain.  And you too, Sarah Palin.  If you can’t take the heat, then get the hell out of the race.  This is not about you.  This is about America and the American people.

Sarah Palin – McCain’s Cheney

I’ve posted a little something about this earlier. This is what Sarah Palin supports. This is animal abuse, pure and simple and anyone that abuses and disrespects animals, will also abuse and disrespect humans. Our values are determined by how we treat the other creatures that share this planet with us.

How much is it worth? It’s all about money. Only the elitist rich people can afford to hire a plane and shoot animals that have no place to hide.

Watch this video… if you can stomach it.

Sarah Palin has no moral values. She only cares about herself, having power and controlling others. Shooting wolves from airplanes is certainly about control over others. Shame on you Sarah Palin.

From Freedom Rebel at TheZoo:

Conservationists are right to be outraged by this state-sponsored program. But they shouldn’t blame the citizens of Alaska, who have twice shown that they detest their state’s actions. They can and should, however, blame the state’s political leadership, which infuriatingly continues to refuse to put the public interest above that of the special interests—even when it means recklessly and arrogantly disregarding the scientific evidence, ethics and voter decisions, all at once.

Let’s make this video viral. Americans have the right to know about this animal cruelty. No real hunter would ever shoot an animal from an airplane.

How much is it worth?

Mother Moose And Her Baby
Mother Moose And Her Baby

Sarah Palin and John McCain are no friends to the environment or wild life. They support hunting and shooting animals from low flying airplanes. That’s NOT hunting. This is what lazy and ignorant cowards with lots of money do. They don’t have the skills or the intelligence to hunt an animal. Real hunting takes patience and smarts. Just watch a cat outside stalking its prey. It takes its time, and is focused, and waits for the right moment. Shooting animals from an airplane only takes lots of money to pay for the flight. No real skills needed. Just focus the gun and pull the trigger. Anyone with vision can do that.

Last year, Mrs Palin proposed offering a bounty of $150 per wolf, as long as the hunter provided the wolf’s foreleg as proof of the kill. The measure did not pass. She even spent $400,000 on a state-funded campaign to block attempts to end the hunt.

Its not just wildlife conservationists who object. Many ordinary Alaskans also condemn the practice as barbaric. Trish Rolfe, who runs the Sierra Club’s Alaska office, thinks Governor Palin has been a disaster for Alaska’s environment. “The idea that she stands up to the oil companies is a joke,” she says.

“The governor pays lip service to the issue of global warming but denies it is man made. She will not even spend money to help the Inupiaq villages which are about to fall into the sea.”

To propose a bounty on an animal is inhumane. Sarah and John like to tell Americans that they have family values. Abuse and disrespect for animals is something that is learned at home. How someone treat animals is a good indication of how they treat people. This behavior goes hand and hand and you can’t separate the two. Abuse an animal, abuse a child, abuse a spouse… that’s NOT family values.

John McCain has proven that he, too, doesn’t care about the environment or the American people by choosing a running mate that has no respect for animals which means she has no respect for humans either. It’s all about money, power and control for both of them.

Artic Wolves
Arctic Wolves

As you can see in the photo, the arctic wolf survives in a difficult environment. Sarah Palin considers these animals pests that need to eliminated. Guess they stand in the way of her raping the environment for oil drilling, gas drilling and strip mining. Hey, a few animals gone here and there, so what. As long as her supporters and McCain’s supporters are making money, the environment and the wildlife don’t matter. This means that we Americans don’t matter either.

  • Sarah Palin has 3 houses and the McCains have at least 7 houses, so between the McCains and the Palins, there are at least 10 houses. How many houses do you have? Compare that to one house for Joe Biden and one house for Barack Obama. The GOP must think that we can’t count. It’s all part of their “No Child Left Behind” legislation, or is that really “All Children Left Behind“.
  • When it comes to simple minds, Cindy McCain is right up there with Dan Quayle. Why just yesterday she reminded us that “Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So it’s not as if she doesn’t understand what’s at stake here.” This is the extent of Sarah Palin’s foreign experience.
  • Don’t let Sarah Palin fool you with her statement about being against building Senator Steven’s bridge. The truth is, she was for it before she was against it. Palin only canceled building the bridge when she found out that the taxpayers from all the other States weren’t going to fully fund building this bridge. In other words, Congress refused to provide full funding for Senator Stevens bridge.
  • John McCain likes to say that he is a “Maverick” and that he chose Palin because he thinks she is a “Maverick“, too. From what I remember about the TV show “Maverick“, he was a gambling man that had a woman in every town. Guess John McCain is telling us that he is willing to gamble on our national security, our economy, our Social Security, our health care, our Veteran’s benefits, and everything else. John McCain is telling us that he is a gambling man. He is even gambling on his own health, that is, he is healthy enough to serve four years because he chose someone with no experience and has no knowledge about the role of the Vice President. Didn’t Sarah pay attention in school? As far as a woman in every town, we’ll need to ask the Secret Service about that.
  • Sarah Palin is good pals with the indicted Senator from Alaska, Senator Stevens. Here’s video of Palin and Stevens. Just look at her smile. She loves this guy. Notice, first they want to strip Alaska of its natural resources and then think about renewable sources of energy.
  • Senator Stevens SUPPORTS a National ID. Next thing we know, the Government will want to place tracking chips in each of us. They’ll start with the children and the babies and they will use fear to get the parents to cooperate.
  • Happy Labor Day. Support our Unions because it is the Unions that helped Americans get a 40 hour work week, vacation time, health benefits, minimum wage and all the other Labor Laws. Without the Unions, we would still be working in sweat shops.
  • UPDATE: There’s this from My2bucks… seems like Sarah has some ‘splainin’ to do. There were illegal contributions during her campaign for Governor that connect to Abramoff money.
  • Sarah Palin, the gift that just keeps giving.  She has connections to the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) video and more about it here
    • WHAT IS THE ALASKAN INDEPENDENCE PARTY
The Alaskan Independence Party is, according to their website, “no longer a fringe party.” Its views include:
    • A belief that “the vote for statehood was invalid because the people were not presented with the range of options available to them” and that “the federal government has since breached the contract for statehood on numerous occasions in over a dozen serious and substantial instances.”
    • A belief that there should be a vote on Alaskan secession.
    • Remaining “steadfastly opposed to environmental regulations and actively promotes the private ownership and widespread development of Alaskan land.”
    • A platform which includes:

Amending the Constitution of the State of Alaska so as to re-establish the rights of all Alaskan residents to entry upon all public lands within the state, and to acquire private property interest there in, under fair and reasonable conditions. Such property interest shall include surface and sub-surface patent.

Foster a constitutional amendment abolishing and prohibiting all property taxes.

Seeking the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska.

Sure sounds like Sarah Palin put Alaska first and American second.  She is not VP material.
