Obama’s Has the Delegates…

According to the Associated Press, Barack Obama has the necessary delegates to clinch the nomination. Read about it here on MSNBC. Sources within the Clinton campaign say that she is ready to acknowledge that Barack Obama has the necessary delegates. The rumors are that Hillary would consider the VP spot. Since there is no “runner-up” default for the VP position, Obama may spend some time researching who will best serve the nation and who will best balance the ticket in positions of strength.

Who do you think would be a good choice for Barack Obama’s running mate? How about some choices for Cabinet positions?

Will McBush pick Romney as his VP or will it be some other governor? We already know that McBush wants to appoint Phil Gramm, the lobbyist that pushed “Death Bonds”, read about it here… Secretary of the Treasury. If you thought the US Treasury has been raped and pillaged by the current Republican administration, wait until Phil Gramm gets a hold of it.

Okay – speak your mind… who are you choices and why?

Hillary Clinton Politics War

Hillary Clinton and Iran Obliteration

Here’s Hillary’s point of view when it comes to using nuclear weapons. She’s dangerous.

Barack Obama Campaign Democrats Faith in Politics Gender Government Hillary Clinton McCain Obama Opinion Pastor Wright Prejudice Race Religion

Is Pastor Wright the New Britney Spears?

For the past two weeks, it’s been non-stop Barack Obama and Pastor Wright. The media has fixated on some “snippets” taken from a speech and without the whole context of the speech, the snippets are meaningless. Hillary Clinton stated that she would have left Pastor Wright’s church however, it was the Pastor Wright that prayed with Bill Clinton for forgiveness after the Monica Lewinsky event. Hillary may not have wanted to attend Pastor Wright’s church but he was certainly welcomed in the White House.

The news keeps bringing up the racist comments. How strange that the media will focus on a few words from Pastor Wright and remain silent when Ann Coulter suggests that a Supreme Court Justice be poisoned. It’s okay for whites to make racist remarks about blacks. It’s been happening for years. When a black speaks up in anger about being treated with disrespect his whole life, it’s a different matter. The media wants to ruminate over it just like it ruminates over every appearance and every movement of Britney Spears. Remember the “Runaway Bride” story? That lasted for weeks. The media would rather obsess over nonsense then address the war in Iraq or Afghanistan or our forgotten veterans. These stories would require real journalism and today’s reporter’s just don’t have the skills, knowledge and ambition to report on more serious matters. No, today’s media is all about “flashy” stories.

How come the media is NOT ruminating about how John McCain courted the support of Rev. Hagee? You know, the very Reverend that called Catholics “satanists”, the very Reverend that supports Isreal for the sole purpose of Jews converting to Christianity, the very Reverend that calls for a nuclear holocaust in the Middle East that will kill millions of innocent children, women, PREGNANT women, and men so that the “Rapture” can happen. Rev. Hagee has followers that will do anything in their power to bring on the “Rapture”. This is dangerous because it effects the lives of millions of people.

Reverend Hagee’s followers call themselve Christians and yet cannot live by the words of Jesus (Joshua). They are more concerned about gays getting married and Pastor Wright’s justified words of anger then they are about following the road to Jesus. This would require that they feed the hungry, clothe the poor, give shelter to the homeless, and love others. No, instead they hate and spew anger. It is said that Jesus told his disciples to not judge others yet Reverend Hagee’s followers believe it is their duty to do just that. This is the man that John McCain sought for an endorsement, a so-called Christian that doesn’t follow the teachings of his Christ.

Pastor Wright just spoke words of anger, justified anger and he will forever pay for his words even though millions of people will not die because of what he said. As a woman, I understand feeling disenfranchised just because of my gender. However, I will never know what it feels like to be stopped by the police just because of the color of my skin, I will never know what it feels like to have people cross the street because of the color of my skin, I will never know what it feels like to be told that I can’t eat in a restaurant or use the bathroom because of the color of my skin, I will never know what it feels like to see someone I love hanging by their neck from a tree because of the color of their skin and I will never know what it feels like to hear that someone that I loved was left to die on the side of the road because of the color of their skin. No, I will never experience any of that. Pastor Wright has. He understands what it means to have people judge him by the color of his skin.
Enough of my rant…

I have provided a link to another point of view. Read it. You may learn something.

Barack Obama Campaign Democrats Elections Government Hillary Clinton Obama Opinion Party Building Poll Registration Vote Voting

The Obama Phenomenon hits Berks County

OK, I’ve been involved as a volunteer in campaigns for some time now, local state, and federal. Everything from township supervisor to president of the United States. I know when a candidate gets support, and I can sense the level of support, from disinterest to, well, passionately absorbed. I have to tell you that the Obama campaign, which has a small cadre of paid staffers in the little town of Reading PA (pop. 75,000?) has taken the region by surprise. The story is in the numbers. As was reported in these pages a few days ago, Berks County had about 3000 new Democratic registrants since the beginning of the year, while the Republicans have had 179. Well in less than a week, those numbers will increase by several thousand. Teams of enthusiastic volunteers from Berks County, under the direction of Obama staffers, are swarming out to all high traffic areas in the city and county and registering new and cross-over voters in droves. Yesterday, thanks to my wife, I had the grunt task of adding those new registrations to the Vote Builder data base. Folks, the two of us spent over 4 hours there, and barely made a dent in the pile. This man, and this campaign are combing through the under-story of the local political landscape to find tons of new registrants (folks who never bothered to care, from their early twenties to oldsters in their eighties), and party-switchers (about 10% of the registrations I handled). The story is plain and simple. No other candidate on the political scene in my memory has tapped into voter radar like Barack Obama. And these new registrants are being entered in to the state and national Democratic databases, under the Obama tag. Don’t think party regulars (read super delegates) aren’t taking notice. Another update: The Philadelphia campaign office has already exceeded its registration goals. Bob Roggio (candidate U.S. House of Rep. 6th Cong. District) do you know where your coattails are being made? Pollsters tapping Pennsylvania’s mood, do you understand why you will be way off mark in your opinion polling for this upcoming primary? (For the under-informed, pollsters contact likely voters… those who have voted often in several previous elections, and they don’t call cell phones, which I entered a lot of yesterday.). Hey Hillary… ‘a cold wind is gonna blow.
